Linda Ravenscroft

Linda Ravenscroft...was born in Cheshire in 1963.
She went to the London Road School of Art after
doing her O' Levels in 1979 for 12 months. After she
obtained her A'Level in fine art. She had to give up
her art education due to personal reasons, but she
continued to paint, selling the occasional painting to
friends and family.
In 1983 she met her husband John, who encouraged
her to show her work through local galleries. During
this time she worked as a full time receptionist and her
employer allowed her to sketch during office hours as
long as it didn't affect her work. Her daughter Vivien
was born with a serious hip defect and required many
months of hospital treatments and operations and she
had to give up her plan to return to work and instead
stayed at home to be with her daughter. She started
painting from home and selling through local craft fairs,
then rented a room at the Arts and Antique center in
Knutsford.
